FAQ’s

How do I place an order?

Start by filling out the quote form which you can find here. From there, I can send you some info via email and we can arrange a consultation time if needed, or orders can be discussed via phone calls or email only.

Please note that orders are not confirmed as booked until your deposit has been received. Payments are non-refundable but if the order is cancelled with a minimum two months’ notice it can be used as credit towards a future order, valid for 12 months. All orders incur a non-refundable Administration and Booking Fee of $65.00.

How do I arrange a consultation and what should I bring?

It is best to call so that we can arrange a time that suits. This is also a great way to discuss all aspects of your cake if you are unsure as to what you are after and what I am able to offer.

I highly recommend you bring some photo ideas along with you to give me an idea of designs you like, don’t like etc. I also may be able to take inspiration from your invitation, along with colour swatches, photos of your dress for lace matching etc. The more you can bring along to your consultation the better.

How far ahead of my event should I order?

As much lead time as possible is preferred as I can only fulfil a certain amount of orders each week and places tend to fill up fast. 4-6 months is ideal. May and September are my busiest months so if your event falls during this time period, 6-9 months’ notice is best.

Some short notice orders can be taken with a minimum of 10 days to your event, but this depends on availability.

No bookings are taken for events further than 11 months in advance.

How many flavours and fillings can I choose for my cake?

Both flavours and fillings can be customized - you can choose whichever flavour you like to go with the filling of your choice. Each tier can be a different flavour, or you can choose 2 per tier. For example, if you are serving the cake as dessert, I can make the top half of the tier chocolate (for e.g.) and the bottom half white chocolate, so that each guest receives both flavours in the piece they are served.

No extra charge is applied to have multiple flavours in your cake however premium flavours and fillings incur a slight surcharge.

Can I make changes to my order once booked?

Changes to your cake design are possible if enough notice is given and I can accomodate the new design, however no major changes can be made to your overall design less than 1 month prior to the event. Date changes are subject to availability and incur a $65.00 Administration Fee. Major or excessive changes to a quoted order may also incur a $65.00 Administration Fee. Any changes/updates/corrections to your order must be sent via email.

Can you tell me more about your taster boxes?

I provide cake taster boxes which contain 9 different flavours which are wrapped, labelled and packed in a gift box for you to take home and try at your own leisure. They are substantially sized and can be easily shared between 4-6 people. I have a rotation of 4 different box selections so you can try more than just 9.

Cost per box is $55.

If you proceed with a booking that exceeds $350, you will receive a $20 credit toward your order. (Credits valid for 60 days.)

Do you cater for allergies?

I am pleased to offer some gluten and dairy free options however these are made using almond flour, so they are not nut free.

I do not operate out of a completely gluten-free or allergy free premises. Whilst I take every precaution, I cannot guarantee 100% free of gluten/allergens in your product, as there is a possibility of trace amounts crossing over from other areas.

Can you put fresh flowers on my cake?

I sure can, fresh flowers look amazing on most cake types. I can either liaise with your florist to make sure they provide me with the amount I will need or I can organise and order the flowers for you from a local florist I regularly work with. I will clean, wire, tape and arrange them on the cake either at my cake studio (which is preferable) or at the venue on the day of your event.

Do you provide cake stands?

Stands can be hired along with your cake or cupcakes. Hire cost varies from $25-$65 depending on stand type. Colours include silver, gold, rose gold, black, white, ivory and pastel pink. Some colours are available in plateau and footed varieties. I also have a range of Perspex cupcake towers ranging from 3-7 tiers.

A security deposit is always required (cost depends on stand type but varies from $100-$200). This is refunded once the stand is returned. All stands must be returned to the cake studio.

If the stand is damaged or broken in your care, the security deposit will not be refunded.

Do you offer delivery or is it pick up only?

I can have your order ready to collect from my cake studio at Holland Park. Alternatively I can deliver it to the venue personally, to make sure it arrives safely. (Minimum order amount to qualify for deivery is $400.)

Price depends on location; minimum charge is $60 which includes into the CBD and within a 15min radius from my studio.

All collections are made during the week or on a Saturday morning. Sunday deliveries incur a $35 surcharge.

Some of the larger sized cakes may have to be stacked together at the venue as they are too heavy to transport in one piece so for these, delivery is a must.

DISCLAIMER: Once your cake has been delivered or collected, it is your responsibility to handle the cake with utmost care and to the instructions I provide, as I will no longer be responsible for any damages that occur.

Can I put my cake in the fridge?

Fondant cakes must not be put into the fridge before your event as they can sweat and the colours may run. It is best to keep the cake in a cool spot away from heat and direct sunlight. Aircon is ideal and necessary in the warmer months.

You can refrigerate or freeze the cakes once they have been cut. Please make sure to wrap the cake well to prevent it from drying out.

Can I keep the sugar decorations?

If you would like to keep any decorations such as figurines and sugar flowers, they can be placed in a box preferably with some anti moisture crystals or placed in a display cabinet. Do not put any sugar decorations such as flowers, figurines etc. in the fridge or freezer.
